According to Vastu Shastra, a temple in a home or office protects the space from harmful vibes. Although it also suggests that following a few Vastu tips alongside installation of a mandir will completely benefit you. Following are some rules one needs to follow in order to gain maximum positive energy and bring happiness and prosperity into a home.

The temple at home, is a sacred place where we worship God. So, naturally, it must be a positive and peaceful place. The temple area, when placed according to Vastu Shastra, can bring health, prosperity and happiness to the house and its occupants. Although a separate puja room would be ideal, this is not always possible in  cities, where there is space crunch.

Big Temple

it is advisable to keep the temple in North- East direction. The earth’s tilt is also towards the north-east direction only and it moves with the starting point of the north-east. Hence, this corner is like the engine of a train, which pulls the entire train. The placement of the temple in this area of the house is also like that – it pulls the energies of the entire house towards it and then, takes it forward.

The Appropriate Height Of The Temple
The mandir should be installed an appropriate height which is a few inches above the ground. The height should be such that the base of the idols of Gods are in the same level of the person’s chest. If the height crosses this level, it becomes difficult for the devotee to see the idol’s face and if the height is below this level, then it is disrespectful to keep God so close to the ground.

Insulation Is Important
Any type of insulation is a must in the Pooja room of your home. According to Vastu Shastra, this is important while performing prayers and rituals. This not only has a Vastu significance but also a scientific implication according to which when we stand or sit on a rug while praying, our head is stowed in insulation which keeps the negative vibes away.

Keep The Temple Wooden
According to Vastu Shastra, a temple made of wood is auspicious and considered to be more religious. Wood is an important element in Vastu Shastra and its usage in the construction of temple brings in good luck. Apart from wood, other material which can be used is marble. This is also a natural element and denotes peace and clarity which is an important factor in the happiness of a house.

Direction Of The Light
A home mandir is incomplete without proper lighting. Whenever lighting diyas or candles, keep them in the south-eastern side of the mandir. This direction is supposed to be auspicious for the home and people living in it. It not only attracts positivity but also money and happiness.

Use The Right Direction For The Temple
It is important to consider the Vastu direction which is perfect for the home. For installing a mandir, use north-eastern or eastern part of the home. Both these directions bring good luck in Vastu and is perfect for a mandir. It is also known that north-eastern side of a home is filled with positive energy and unless it has a bathroom or kitchen there, one can use this direction for a home temple.
